Round Eleven - Menzies

Last Round - Trevor showing signs of his signature rough pregnancies again. The Toy Box is still doing great. Ewan became a cute toddler! They had a little daughter named Claire.



Rise and shine everyone! Ewan is awake!



Daddy Finn comes to get him out of bed.



This will be a time saver!



Upstairs Daddy Trevor is giving little Claire a bottle.





Layla is just doing her own thing over here.



I never have any idea when babies are going to age up when the baby stage straddles two rounds, so we had a little surprise (to me) birthday for Claire the first night!



Look how sweet she is! Her and Ewan could really be twins!



Double trouble with two toddlers in the house right now.



They put her in the crib for the night, but she still looks ready to party.



With two small kids and a dog, their house is almost always a complete disaster. Finn got to a little much needed tidying up.



"Excuse me, I think that's my bath you're using..."



Now that he's finally not pregnant and feeling awful, Trevor went to do his first day at The Toy Box. I completely did not remember Finn had hired an employee, but the help was very welcome for Trevor.







At home, Ewan is having to learn to share his toys with his sister.



Luckily Finn is there to set him up on his horsey instead.





That night we have another impromptu birthday, this time Ewan is a child! Didn't even have to change his outfit, I love when that happens.



"Wow, my hands sure are blocky!"





Dreaming up new melodies.



An attempt was made, but for now, no chimes!



I've literally lost count of how many burglaries are happening in Brightmaple lately! But clearly their justice system is very lenient because they keep letting that burglar back out.



Layla is absolutely useless as a guard dog, bless her.



Foiled again!



Ewan sleeps on.



Enjoying some severely burnt toaster pastries for breakfast.



Then Ewan is off for his first day at school!



While he's gone, Claire gets into his toy box and slobbers all over his wooden horse.





This one also potty trained in record time!



Looking quite smug about it, as he should. Quite the achievement.



Ewan brought Hannah Park home after school, and she met Layla as well.

Here are some pictures of Ewan's kid bedroom too! Claire is in the nursery he used to be in, and he moved across the hall into this previously empty room.





Finn has the music and dance hobby, so it was about time they had a stereo.

Here's the cutie pie! Again, happy with the outfit she aged up into, so nothing to change!



Still no chimes :( Hopefully they do have more kids but maybe a bit of a break and a gap between them is good.







The kids are all tucked in, and that's it for their round!

This family is so cute and wholesome 🥹 honestly one of my favourites so far! Hopefully they have more adorable kiddos soon! Also I've been wondering - do you play with the vanilla lifespan? Or a shorter one? These Sims age up quickly!

Thank you! They are surprisingly drama free besides the constant exhaustion and fight against a messy house since there's a lot of pregnancy tiredness and very few neatness points to go around XD

So up to this point here I was playing with the vanilla life spans! I did tweak them a bit somewhere in round 13 I think it was? I just set it up so existing lifestages stayed the same but whoever aged up next would get the new ones from then on. In my mind there was an advance in medicine and nutrition over time that's gradually causing longer life expectancies ;)

I changed babies from 3 days to 2, toddlers from 4 to 5, kids from 8 to 9, teens from 15 to 12, and adults from 29 to 38. Elders are the same.

Mostly I extended a couple lifestages I like, and shortened some I don't as much. It was primarily because almost every single grandparent was dying of old age when the grandkids were toddlers or under. Which in real life does happen, but many people have grandparents well into their own adult life! So I wanted the adult stage to be proportionally longer compared to the minority ages if that makes sense. I'm gonna see how this plays out and may tweak it again in future if I feel like it needs it.

Oh right! I like your headcannon haha - I play with a pretty long lifespan for adults in particular so I've been reading along and going "oh my gosh they all age up so fast!!"😅 Otherwise they are faily similar. My adults are adults for 60 days, but if they go to Uni I take some days off with simblender - I wanted to have enough time to really establish careers and businesses, have babies without feeling rushed, and have families where if they have a baby as a very new adult, they could become grandparents before actually being elders. When they hit the second half of their adulthood I usually add some wrinkles hehe

Yeah having more time to run their businesses and space out kids was also a motive for me, along with having more time for grandparents also! Will still be a bit before I see that come to fruition though, but I guess at this point I'm in this hood for the long haul regardless XD
