Round Eighteen - The Community

Last Round - Abigail was working like a dog around the commune and having intermittent emotional breakdowns. Ewan put the moves on Clementine, as well as having her attend a few of his lectures. He also was getting a bit more paranoid about people spying on them, and is trying to recruit more new members. Claire was dating Gavin, and she was an opportunity to get out before her brother got any weirder, so she moved out with Gavin! And Clementine moved in!
Who's Who in the Zoo?
As far as Ewan is concerned, the only family that truly matters is the one they're intentionally creating here at The Community. Through hard work, yoga and meditation, and several hours a day of Ewan's fascinating sermons, what more could any Sim need in life?
(However both Ewan and Clementine do have actual biological families too - Ewan even has a child but his contact with him has been very minimal.)
Abigail is up early and grabbing a quick instant breakfast out of the fridge, before it's straight outside as usual to tend to the plants.
Because Ewan and Clementine are busy doing other things.
A little morning yoga to centre his mind.
Abigail also spends some time making flower bouquets. Once it turns to spring next round and the weather is better, I want them to sell flowers and honey by the road. For now they're in stock up mode!
Clementine goes out to check on Abigail and say hello! She's mostly oblivious to Abigail's (or anyone's) hardships. For Clementine, everything is always sunshine and rainbows. Kind of the perfect partner for a cult leader - seeming like she's completely content comes naturally to her.
Ewan spends some time practicing his sermon.
Last round Ewan was starting to get to know townie Freddie, and he's really got his eye on him as a potential new member of The Community. He calls him up and invites him over.
He starts by using his powers of persuasion to convince Freddie to do some repairs for him, to see how suggestible he is.
Looks promising!
Ewan wanted to get a drumset, so naturally, Ewan got a drumset. The leader has to follow his whims, since they're vibrations from the universe guiding him in his leadership. It's for everyone's good.
Freddie joined for dinner.
Ewan got this want, which was perfect timing as we needed a little boost to help convince him to join us.
Perfect!
Ewan promptly asked Freddie to join the household and just like that, The Community has grown!
Gavin got very confused and left this for Claire, even though they moved out together last time. Ewan decided to keep it to decorate the lawn.
Clementine's belly has popped! As you might recall, she got unexpectedly pregnant when she woohooed with Cameron Perry. Although non-monogamy is allowed and even encouraged in The Community, I also think that who the paternity is attributed to in Clem's mind will be determined by how the child looks.
Since her colouring is basically the same as Ewan's, if it looks like them she'd assume it's his. But if the colouring is more like Cameron's, who's very different, I think she'll realise who the actual father is. We'll see!
In the meantime, speaking of non-monogamy!
Freddie is put straight to work sorting out the garden beds before the cold kills them.
Clementine took on bongo duty today, keeping the beat strong to focus Ewan's mind.
Freddie got kitchen duty. I think Abigail must be very relieved for a little more help around the property.
Abigail headed downtown to try and busk a little for money to contribute.
She's got some fans!
Freddie came along too, but watched a movie instead. But part of their responsibilities are to always be on the lookout for potential new members of The Community.
A nice little haul of cash!
Clementine tried out Ewan's drums!
Gave her a maternity dress since the morphs didn't work right on her usual outfit.
Clementine wants omelettes, so Abigail made her some.
Sermon time, everyone crowds in!
Clementine gets excused early to look after her needs, on account of her pregnancy.
Abigail crashed on the couch, while outside in the bunker, Ewan was honing his skills and Freddie's initiation was continuing.
He actually had some really good luck with this contraption - I think he's hooked!
Your mind is really beginning to open Freddie, you're on the journey of ascendance!
The journey of ascendance of course includes humbling oneself with manual labour and chores.
Turns out he can really bang out the tunes though.
Ewan courteously starts wailing on the drums at the crack of dawn.
This is the type of property that needs at least one pet on it, so to start with they've adopted a dog named Shadow!

Freddie and Abigail are getting to know one another.

Freddie really wants to get closer to the leader and impress him with his dedication.

They invited some guests over that evening - Ewan's sister Claire (who used to live here) and Clem's cousin Sabine who she's quite close with.

Welcome to baby Margot Brand! As we can see, she definitely takes after Cameron in colouring, so it's going to be fairly obvious to everyone what her parentage is! So that's the storyline we're going to have to explore moving forward.
Swept up in the emotions of the moment, Clementine gets down on one knee.
He accepts!
These two are continuing to enjoy each others company.
Freddie's getting into candlemaking as a way to further contribute to The Community financially. Arts & crafts is his hobby, and no one else has gotten into candlemaking specifically as their subhobby, so that's going to be his!
A little afternoon sermon.
But Margot needs some attention too!
Shadow sleeps on the floor in the corner even though her bed is right over there!
Clementine's cousin Adela stopped by and started going at it on the piano.
Everyone had a quiet and productive day.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in raising Margot, since all children belong to The Community and not just one or two parents!
Abigail is still feeling a little unsettled, despite her best efforts to push those feelings away.
Bethany came to visit, and meet Ewan at Clementine's suggestion.
She even sat in for a sermon, but she seemed a little bemused by it all.
Time for Margot's birthday!

How do you decide who joins the community?

Date: 2025-08-26 05:03 am (UTC)For playables that's much more based on who I think would fall for it or be attracted to the lifestyle! Since Clementine is serial romancer/huge family aspirations, a cult that practices non-monogamy and portrays itself as one big family would totally be up her alley lol. Plus I see her as kind of oblivious/head in the clouds so the negative aspects wouldn't register for her.
