Round Thirteen - Crosby-Gates

Last Round (Crosby) - Tessa adopted a sweet dog named Duff! Melena and her girlfriend Marie fell in love and were super cute. Tessa was still dating Reggie and they're cute together, but not sure how serious. Maybe she's not totally ready to move on from Drew, or just busy being a mom and step mom! Louise had her birthday and became a teen, and she's definitely showing more resemblance to her late father at this age, as well as her oldest brother Oliver. Melena had a birthday too and became an adult! Marie got aged up with her, and moved in to become the newest playable resident, so that the two of them could move out together and start their own life as a couple.



First, it was time to decorate their new home! I knew with Marie's traits including eco-friendly and loves the outdoors, I wanted their home to have a bit of a boho world-traveller vibe, with lots of plants. You can check out a video of me decorating their home if you'd like!





I love all the bright jewel tones in their house.



And the huge double height ceilings and windows in the living room. It's a pretty small house but this makes it feel so much bigger.



Went a little nuts with the kitchen clutter but it was so necessary for this style. This kitchen was the general inspiration for theirs.







Bathroom inspiration. Didn't have a small rainbow rug so had to improvise a bit!



Their super cute photobooth shots from their teenage years right at the top of the stairs in the hall!









Now that they're all moved in, time to christen the couch!



Maybe they should have gotten curtains or blinds... feels like this should count as public woohoo!





Reminiscing lol...



Both Melena and Marie have popularity aspiration, so they had to throw a housewarming party!



Friends and family were there :)



And in the middle of it Melena got a call from either her sister or her step mom, I forget.



Ariella just permanently has this scowl when she talks to anyone lol she's so grumpy! Even when it's her sister-in-law!





Guess Marco couldn't wait a minute for Melena to finish the burgers!

Things winding down as the evening wears on.

The next day, it was time to get a business started for them! They opened up a farmer's market, called Root To Plate Market.

Since I built it, I keep finding more and more appropriate CC. They only had so much money to set up with (I didn't want to give them too huge of a loan) so in their next round when they're able to expand a little more I'll be able to add in even more stuff!



I absolutely love how this lot turned out. I wanted it to look like just an old barn! Doing it on the corner lot worked out perfectly for it too.



There's some flowers for sale as well as produce. Sims love buying flowers SO much I've found, I had to make only a few for sale so they would sell out quickly and people would actually buy food too lol.



I have to figure out how to tweak these produce bushels, Sims stand right in the middle of them while browsing. I found a tutorial somewhere on how to fix that but I think I lost track of it again!





Cameron Perry is well on his way to becoming the future president of Brightmaple's chamber of commerce, because he is the first customer at every grand opening I swear!





Stepmom Tessa comes by to congratulate them on the new business!



Back at home and back to woohoo... and chimes were heard!



It very quickly becomes evident who is carrying the pregnancy. I made sure to turn birth control on for Melena for the time being so I don't end up with a situation like Isaac and Dev where both partners were pregnant at the same time!



Eating for two now!



But not hanging on to it for long. To be honest I think she did this before she even had a chance to eat those pancakes actually.



Fitness hobby but no funds for workout equipment means yoga in the living room!





Meanwhile, Marie's pregnancy is rough so it's time for a nap.



Melena's little sister Louise stopped by to say hi.



Bump! (and bum)



Somebody knocked over the poor gnome and he just lays drunkenly in the garden.



Kids continue to be their best customers!



Even a rainy day doesn't keep the customers away!



Yay, rank one already!



Had to get a shot of how beautiful it is at dusk before it's time to head back to the home lot.



And when we get there, Marie's second bump is already here!





Next morning, Melena is making breakfast.



And then off to Brightmaple Community Garden, both to restock their own fridge, and I also imagine to restock the business





Reporter guy is here!



And so is Starla Harrison, who decides to be a prankster.





That night, Marie lets me know it's nooboo time!



They welcome a daughter, Sloane Crosby-Gates! I was totally thinking the baby would have the same colouring as her moms, who are both brunettes with brown eyes, but I forgot about recessives again! This eye colour comes from her late grandmother, Jane Crosby.





I decorated a little safari themed nursery for her. Ran out of funds so there area few more details I'd like to add later, but for now I love how it turned out!

Both Melena and Marie are so pretty. I'm curoius how Sloane will look like when she's older!

Thank you! Me too, so interested! They have completely different noses haha so mostly curious to see whose nose she gets!

Ooh! I love the nursery, and the barn, and the whole house! You Melena and Marie have great style and taste! I'm also curious to see who Sloane (great name btw) will take after; and those eyes caught me by surprise! Totally love recessive genes in this game!

I know, me too! I've had a lot of recessive genetics in gen 3 so far (hallelujah!) so I don't know why I completely forgot that was a possibility for her haha. Can't wait to see how she looks when she gets older!

Go for it! I stole it from some Sims 4 speed build videos I was watching, saw a couple people doing stuff like that and I thought that was such a cool idea!
I'm soo happy how the barn turned out. The lot was already available so it was just a fluke it was a corner lot, as soon as I saw it was I knew it had to be a diagonal barn facing the corner of the streets. Then it all just came together!
