Round Fifteen - Menzies

Last Round - Layla passed away near the start of the round :( The twins had their birthday and became children. Claire went out on a date with Nora and they had their first kiss, and later fell in love. But Claire still wanted to see what else was out there, so she also went on a date with a townie girl. They adopted a new dog named Wolfgang! And Trevor and Finn both had their birthdays too, and became elders!

Who's Who in the Zoo?

Trevor and Finn Menzies joined Brightmaple as new playables in round nine. They've had four kids together - Ewan, Claire, and the twins Katy and Cole.







Claire and Ewan start the day off by arguing about something, but quickly move on to a game of red hands.





Trevor and Finn started their day with something else!



Katy and Cole were just being wholesome and playing with their toys in their room.



Wolfgang is getting some belly rubs!



Their yard continues to be an absolute disaster that no one has any interest in maintaining, because they're all slobs. They must be that house on the block.

Claire had some roses left for her, by Janey, her townie date last round.

They got kicked out of her room and moved on to the console upstairs - Luca Crosby came over after school and joined them too.



Claire met Nora at the local playground for a hangout date.







It was a very teenage date!







Finn made Ewan get a bit more caught up on his homework.



Cole did his on his own, and ghostly Layla showed up to encourage him!





She also hung out with the wolf pack outside.

Finally someone does a little cleaning around here!

Life is a little less hectic now, and Trevor finally has some time to pursue his arts hobby!

Katy discovered a nature hobby! Since she discovered it catching butterflies I've got it in my head that she's going to be a Bug Girl.

This evening it's Ewan's birthday! The first Menzies child is about to enter adulthood.



Here's our guy!



His primary was already Popularity B (public enemy) and his secondary is Knowledge B (evil scientist). I hadn't been really sure what to do with Ewan in his adult life, but I started getting ideas after I gave it more thought.... you'll have to wait and see, but I've got plans for him!





Don't have a breakdown over the mess Trevor, just clean it up!

Speaking of inner rage... the ROS for them this round was worst fears realized, and all of Ewan's revolved around making enemies, including with Finn. So I kept making him start fights with him!





We'll see if it goes anywhere!



Being a Sim into the fitness hobby, Ewan decided to head over to the new gym in town run by Theo Harrison.







He got a good workout in!





He chatted with Theo for a bit too.



Katy got a good report card too!

But I checked their relationship tabs and it was only decreasing the relationship on Finn's side, not Ewan's? Not sure if that is normal... but I kind of gave up on the attempts after this!

As if their yard wasn't bad enough, they've got a pile of trash and an army of roaches now! Time to call in the big guns...





That'll do it!



I completely redesigned the layout of the upper floor and I'm much happier with it now! It flows a lot better and they have more space overall despite the same overall size.

Despite a failing grade, Claire is all smiles because today was her very last day of school!

So after this point my game started to have a total breakdown - lots of glitches, pink(invisible) flashing, and glitchy behaviour. I wanted Ewan and Claire to move out into a place together, but they couldn't get in the taxi.



It took multiple attempts and reloads but I finally got them going (even though Ewan got into the cab in his bathrobe).



The yard is still in a state of chaos.



The homework is laying in piles.



Fixtures are broken! Everything is absolutely normal again at the Menzies household.



I couldn't even get a picture of Claire as an adult until her and Ewan were in their new place (which I promptly moved them out of again once I had a different idea for the direction I'm going to take them).

Edit: Rena reminded me I hadn't talked about Claire's personality! She was already a romance A primary (serial romancer) and she is now also popularity A secondary (friend of the world). She's quite a lot nicer than Ewan (7 points vs his 1). So her priorities would seem to be getting to know lots of people, including in the Biblical sense.

Seems like Ewan and Finn's love is so strong, not even a ROS event can make them enemies! 😊
What chaos at the end of the update lol, they really are a bunch of slobs, hehe!

I'm very excited for them I can tell you that! Let's just say I'm trying to lean into my Sim's personalities more for ideas for playing them. I also had some unexpected events occur later in other Sim's rounds, which will factor in too! So fun...

Yes I can do that! It's been really fun analyzing my Sim's personalities and letting that take the lead a bit more.
I totally forgot to talk about Claire's aspirations, I usually take a picture so I can remember lol, I hope I did remember to assign it but probably just forgot the pic in all the chaos. I'm gonna update the post! But she is a romance A primary (serial romancer) and popularity A secondary (friend of the world). So quite different than her brother (much less antisocial and much nicer lol).
