Round Sixteen - Menzies II

Last Round - Their house continued to be the messiest one on the block. Claire had another date with Nora Lewis. Ewan had his birthday and became an adult, and soon afterwards Claire did too. Ewan had an ROS to fulfill his fears and they all centered around making enemies, so he tried to make enemies with his dad Finn, but it was only reducing the relationship on Finn's side, so I gave up on it. Ewan and Claire moved out together at the end of the round.
Who's Who in the Zoo?
Trevor and Finn Menzies joined Brightmaple as new playables in round nine. They've had four kids together - Ewan, Claire, and the twins Katy and Cole. Ewan and Claire became adults during the same round, and moved out of the family home together.
Ewan and Claire have settled in this old farmhouse building way out on the edge of town, near the cemetery.
It's in pretty good shape, and has a fair sized yard as well!
Ewan is on a real kick about being self sufficient and living off the land, so he's got all these garden beds set up outside.
Claire's not so invested in these plans, but for now she has nothing better to do, so she's happy to have a place to live until she decides what it is she really wants from her life.
The hard work of growing your own food begins!
Until that process is a little further along, sandwiches are what's for dinner!
Claire's trampoline came with her.
Ellis is the small welcome wagon that comes to greet them at their new house.
A townie calls and next thing you know, they've got a TV worth $8000! That money was badly needed so that's being put to good use.
One of the things Ewan bought with that money was this podium, so he could practice giving speeches. Right now it's just to an empty room, and from what Claire can hear through the door they sound a little rambling and weird, but he's just having fun!
Ellis hung out there for a bit and chatted with Claire.
The podium is great, but Ewan also likes to spend a lot of time talking to himself in the mirror, so he can also practice his facial expressions.
Claire answered the phone and it was Nora calling, asking her to come out! Maybe some kind of revival of their teenage romance is in the works?
Ewan came with her too, and they joined the group at Cork + Cask downtown.
That romantic revival happened extremely quickly, once they spotted the photo booth.
It was a little weird with most of Nora's extended family milling around right outside of it....
Grabbing a booth so they can get some food.
Ewan meeting and greeting some locals, putting that charisma to the test.
I guess Sabrina was congratulating him on the baby he had with Louise - cause yes, that did happen, don't forget! I think Ewan might have though - he has yet to roll any wants to do with either Louise or his son Ronin.
Now Sabrina is telling him all about how great it is living downtown. The views!

Despite the cuteness with Nora, Claire's primary aspiration is still serial romancer so.... she's not exactly committed.
Those garden beds won't weed themselves!
Somewhere in his travels Ewan met this townie and wants to get to know her better, so he rings her up.

Ewan invited Abigail over, and employs charm and flattery to ingratiate himself.
Ewan's punching bag also came along in the move.
Work, work, work.
Claire asks Nora to meet her for a real date this time. They met up at the Plumbbean Coffee Co.
Aww sweet Nora... you two really aren't on the same page about this.
They're still so cute together though! But I hope Nora does find someone who wants to be with her just as much as she wants to be with them.
I guess Claire was catching people's eyes though. because this dude who works at the coffee shop tried to call her later.
Ewan's taken up yoga as another way to keep fit, since that is his hobby. Strong body, strong mind!
Ewan invited over Abigail again, they've been spending a lot of time together.
He casually asked her how much money she's got in the bank, and he seemed really interested to hear it was a lot.
After greasing the wheels with a few more well deployed compliments, Ewan persuades Abigail to make them some lunch while he relaxes on the couch.
Still working on his powers of persuasion in the mirror!
Claire wanted another date, so she called up Gavin here, who she has pretty great chemistry with!
That chemistry goes pretty far!
Abigail was around as always lately, and wandered into Claire's room for some reason. Well, that's why the door was closed Abigail!
Ewan decided on a whim to ask Abigail to move in - they've been getting along great, and he could use an extra pair of hands with the gardening, especially if he plans to expand that! Looks like she wasn't kidding when she said she had a lot of money too!
Gavin leaves an extravagant gift for Claire on the porch that night. Guess the woohoo was good!
Ewan prevailed on Abigail to pitch in with the gardening - he even had a simple sweatsuit she could wear so she won't dirty up her own clothes.
Abigail is quite generous (it's one of her traits) so she doesn't mind pitching in with the new household, including helping greatly expand the agricultural capacity of their little homestead. A greenhouse goes up next to the garden beds.
They also got some beehives.
Oh, and there's this weird brick building that Ewan built. The door is always locked and he never lets anyone see what's inside it. So that's kind of weird.
Between her dates, Claire has been noticing Ewan acting a little weird lately. Not just that weird bunker outside. Ewan's always rambling at his mirror, or at that podium in an empty room. And now he's hung a portrait of himself in the living room. He said he really liked how he looks in this new all-white outfit, and wanted to commemorate it permanently.
Not to mention that new girl Abigail - she seems nice enough, but it all seemed a little fast that she moved in, and she seems to hang off every word Ewan says. Claire knows her brother isn't really that interesting.
It's just a little strange is all!
Ewan's added a few little touches in his yoga room, crystals and candles to help with the energy flow.
Abigail keeps a steady rhythm on the bongo drums to raise the vibrations in the room.
Speaking of vibrations - ACR carried these two off to bed. They actually had negative chemistry when they first met? I think that it might have shifted to one bolt at some point though, maybe something changed. Maybe sheer force of personality on Ewan's part?
One of Abigail's townie friends Anton stopped by when he heard she'd moved in here, so she asked him to join them for dinner.
Meanwhile, Claire went out downtown again, to meet Gavin for a date!
They had a nice time just hanging out at the bar in the restaurant.
You already know who else was there.
A nighttime good witch blessing!
Abigail tells Anton how glad she is they got to visit, and he got to see what a wonderful place she's in now!
She really thinks that Ewan is so smart and so visionary, and the things he talks about doing are so incredible, she just wants other Sims to be a part of it - maybe Anton should move in?!
But he's a bit put off by her sudden enthusiasm. Who even is this Ewan guy? A week ago, Abigail barely knew him! Now she's living in his house, spending her money to fix it up, and wearing this weird sweatsuit all the time?
Things get a little heated between Anton and Abigail, and he leaves soon after.
Ewan is just enjoying a show in the living room, meanwhile.
Abigail looks a little unsure of herself after that interaction. How can Anton not see how wonderful it would be to build a life here? They need more helping hands to keep growing their fledgling community!

Btw, I'm a little sad about Claire and Nora 😕 I was rooting for them, but it's obvious, that Claire is not that serious.
